1. One-to-one support sessions

During the cycle 1 approvals process, IfATE colleagues are working with awarding bodies on a one-to-one basis.

The purpose of these sessions is to clarify specific queries from awarding bodies in relation to the published approvals criteria. IfATE has found that awarding bodies participating in one-to-one sessions with IfATE colleagues during the cycle 1 approvals process have had higher quality applications in the main submission window than those who did not participate in the sessions.

Awarding bodies who submitted in cycle 1 will continue to receive support from their dedicated IfATE contact.

If you did not submit in cycle 1 and are new to the process for cycle 2, please email us to request an initial one-to-one meeting.

2. Live webinars

IfATE has delivered a live webinar on the approvals process for awarding bodies submitting level 2 and level 3 technical qualifications in cycle 2 on 04 December 2023.

In this webinar, IfATE provided information for awarding bodies on the approval process for level 2 and level 3 technical qualifications submitted during cycle 2. This included an overview of the following information for cycle 2:

  • categories and associated criteria
  • routes and occupational standards in scope
  • the approval process, key timelines and requirements for awarding bodies
  • support available

3. Pre-recorded webinars

From October 2023, IfATE will publish a series of detailed how-to guides for awarding bodies in the form of pre-recorded webinars. Webinars will be uploaded to this page and will remain visible for the duration of cycle 2.

Webinars to be published will include detailed information on:

Awarding bodies can also refer to previously published webinars for employer engagement requirements and writing duties for additional specialist qualifications requiring a proposal to support the development of their submissions for cycle 2.
